About CyberVid
CyberVid is a cybersecurity news publishing platform that enables creators to produce and distribute short-form educational video content to social media channels including TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. This Privacy Policy explains what data CyberVid handles when connecting to those services.
Data we collect
- Authentication credentials: OAuth access and refresh tokens issued by connected platforms (TikTok, YouTube, Google, Meta) when an account is linked to CyberVid. Stored encrypted on the application server.
- Account identifiers: platform-issued IDs (e.g. TikTok
open_id, YouTube channel ID) used solely to publish content to the correct destination. - Public engagement metrics: views, watch-time, and comment counts on content CyberVid has published, retrieved from each platform's public analytics APIs.
- Content metadata: titles, captions, hashtags, and source article URLs for content CyberVid has produced.
Data we do NOT collect
- No personal data from TikTok end users, viewers, followers, or any third party.
- No payment information, contact lists, or device identifiers.
- No analytics trackers, advertising SDKs, or behavioral profiling.
How TikTok data is used
CyberVid uses the TikTok Login Kit and Content Posting API exclusively to:
- Authenticate connected TikTok accounts via OAuth.
- Upload original cybersecurity news videos produced by the platform.
- Mark every upload as AI-assisted via the
is_aigc: trueAPI flag, in compliance with TikTok's synthetic-media policy.
TikTok user data is never sold, never shared with third parties, never used to train AI models, and never combined with data from other sources for profiling or advertising.
Data sharing
CyberVid does not share user data with any third party. All processing occurs on CyberVid-controlled infrastructure. Content is published only to the social platforms the user has explicitly connected.
Data retention & deletion
OAuth tokens are retained while a connected account remains linked. Connected accounts may be disconnected at any time from the CyberVid dashboard, which deletes the stored tokens immediately. Users may also revoke access directly from the TikTok app (Settings → Security & Login → Manage app permissions). Engagement metrics are retained for up to 12 months for content optimization, then pruned.
Security
All endpoints are served over HTTPS with TLS 1.2+. Authentication tokens are stored on restricted-access servers. Secrets are never committed to source control or exposed in client code.
Children
CyberVid is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
